We are pleased to have this opportunity to share more information with you on Bluebird, our geoengineering initiative that promises a Plan B for the world's future in the face of continuing failure to mitigate global warming.
We believe in the need for a bold approach to new technologies and new ideas, especially in face of the giant challenge before us. Our decision to consider geoengineering has not been taken lightly – like the world's leading scientific institutions, including the UK's Royal Society, we are proceeding with caution. We're all hoping that this approach won't be needed – but the time is right for geoengineering options to be researched. Waiting until a climate emergency is upon us would be irresponsible.
Geoengineering is a last resort and as a result it's imperative that we understand it before any decision is made regarding real deployment.
Last week, information and inaccurate assertions pertaining to the Bluebird project were made public by Kyle Vandercamp. Whilst we can confirm that he was a former employee on the project, we do not endorse any of the claims made by this individual. Perhaps the most unfortunate aspect of this incident is that Vandercamp, in his panicked message, fails to describe the intention and careful consideration behind our efforts to research geoengineering. We regret his decision to leave the project and his failure to embrace our true intentions.
Please take the time to consider the following online features around the Royal Society's report on geoengineering from September last year, which reitorate our position on geoengineering:
The Guardian, Sept 2009 – Investment in geoengineering needed immediately, says Royal Society

The Royal Society, Aug 2009 - Stop emitting CO2 or geoengineering could be our only hope

New Scientist, Sept 2009 – Top science body calls for geoengineering 'plan B'

Bluebird is hope.
We look forward to gaining your valuable support,
The Go Bb Team.
